You do not need to register, but if you do, you’ll enjoy the full features of the Abou El Abed café, including submitting jokes, voting for your favourite jokes,bookmarks, iPhone link, competitions, and much more.

Registration is a two stage process.

Stage 1: We validate your email address by sending you a confirmation code and a link to complete the registration.

Stage 2: We capture your user name, password, and ask you a security question in case you lose forget your password in the future. Please note that the user name you chose is public and will be shown against the jokes you submit.

This site is dependent on your jokes, so please share them with us.

To submit a joke, please first make sure that it is not already in the café by using the search button.

Click the Submit joke button in the menu, and then follow the instructions on the screen. You can do basic formatting.

After submitting the joke, it will be reviewed by Abou El Abed and it will appear in the café in the next 24 hours. You can keep track of your submitted joke in the Pending Jokes window on the home page.

Please note that you need to be logged in to submit jokes.

Personal ranking is the average rating of your jokes. The rank is out of a score of 5, with 5 being for tiksir khawaser. To get ranked, start submitting jokes….

Fast Search
Use the quick Search button next to Abou Abed’s picture. As you type your search criteria, a list of suggested jokes is displayed

Detailed Search
Click on the Find button in the menu. As above, start typing and a list of suggested jokes is displayed. After you press Enter, a detailed description of the jokes is displayed

If you like a joke, press the bookmark button just next to the joke title. You can bookmark up to 5 jokes at a time and you need to be logged in.

If your bookmark is full, after clicking on the bookmark button, you can delete older bookmarks.

To quickly go to your bookmarked jokes, go to the Find Menu / Bookmark and locate your joke.

Bookmarked joked are also synchronised with the Abou Abed iPhone application which we are planning to launch very soon.

Yes we are on Twitter and you can follow our news on TheAbouAbed. Our twitter feed is updated on a regular basis with the latest news and jokes.
